A Witches’ Tale

On All Hallows’ Eve, the City Witch went South, to visit her Mother,
the Witch of the Canadian Woods.

{My mother, aka Claire the Canadian Woods Witch}

Claire 1

{Yours truly, aka Mathyld the City Witch}

Mathyld 1

They had a Tea Party on the French « Day of the Deads »,
under the Maple trees.

Lanterns were laid on a bed of cripsy fallen leaves.

Gaillardas * were gathered to make a pretty automnal bouquet.

Tables were dressed in vintage crocheted and embroidered tablecloths.

wee table 1

Apple & Quince tea was poured from a Victorian silver teapot.

silver teapot 1

Homemade bananas muffins were eaten out of British vintage dishes & silverware.

Tea was served in Alice’s (aka my Canadian gran) vintage Occupied Japan teacups.

* During the whole afternoon we amazed at the fact that we NEVER liked gaillardas :
they grow wild in our yard and my mum and I were always annoyed by this fact.
We adore pink, purple, blue and white flowers. Sometimes a few light yellow …
But these bright yellow, burnt orange and brick-ish red … Ack !
Still, amazingly enough, they were just the perfect flowers for such a bouquet
and I enjoyed photographing them !
Nature teaches me so many different things :)

Poor O’timin is having troubles with his nose, (hairs are falling because it is very itchy so he scratches it all the time) … He’s feeling shy because of this, so he’s gonna appreciate the nice comments :)
Winter soon indeed ! Can’t wait ! Hope your dearies are feeling better …

    - Eva : I’d so love you to come and join us !!!
And teach me how to crochet, maybe ? ;)

Thank you so much for the sweet words : I’ll read them to my (pretty shy) mum and to the cat, too.
    They’ll appreciate that !

Aaah, this is so perfect & enchanting! Things I love: the setting with the leaves on the floor, how alike you and your mum are, the muffins (look delicious), the tea (of course!), the flowers (I’m like you, I don’t normally like orangey colours but am liking them this year because of people’s lovely photos), and O’timin’s tummy (I want to tickle it). Looks like you had a wonderful time :) xxx

    Wonderful mise-en-scène :)

You two look like your setting up a scene for a play called “The Witches’ Tea Party.”

Québec and France seem to produce a more graceful and attractive grade of witch than stodgy old Puritan New England ;)
